THE WEEKEND INSPIRATION PROJECT: NEUTRAL NURSERY COLORS

How many of you have a million inspiration photos bookmarked on Instagram? Yeah, that's what I thought—# Same. From interior design inspiration to fashion, landscaping, gardening, healthy recipes, you name it I have it saved. With the best intentions of cooking those recipes, reading the gardening tips, and sharing those nursery inspo photos, unfortunately, it doesn't happen as often as it should. So, I've decided to share my bookmarked pictures with you here on my blog - Giving you a weekly dose of inspiration that you can use to start turning your weekend projects into reality! These are some of my favorite finds throughout the week and I’ll be sharing every Friday.

My eye for design is pretty broad. I love very detailed, sophisticated designs, yet I also love and appreciate the simplicity of others. If it is pulled together and looks finished with quality pieces, I've got my eye on it! Here are a few nurseries designed in neutral colors that caught my eye this week. I've linked to the designers in each photo. Don't forget to comment at the bottom of this post which ones are your favorite and if you’ll be kick starting your own project this weekend!

A timeless look. White walls, natural wood tones and an olive tree! I was searching olive trees recently and this one is a winner. The personalized canvas above the crib looks perfect as wall art. Over time, if you wanted to change things up, you could have it made into a decorative pillow.

Whites, creams and rust - such a versatile color palette. You can add any other accent color to this and it would work. Loving the whimsy of the bird wallpaper (or decals) here.

This room has the advantage of high ceilings. When installing drapery, always try to maximize the height of your treatment because your eye will be drawn up to the drapery rod and fabric. They’ve gone - I’m guessing - at least 18” higher than the window frame here, visually increasing the height of the windows. A soft, neutral color palette, gorgeous rug, and can you see the natural wood grain in the crib? I just love this look!

This isn’t even a snap from a nursery room but I’m loving the vibe. And that’s what inspiration is all about - Finding elements from multiple sources and combining those ideas to create your own look. Black and white framed photos allll day for me!

Arne Jacobsen Bespoke Egg Chair

Arne Jacobsen Bespoke Egg Chair

I love a vintage chair style, especially one like the classic egg chair by Arne Jacobsen. If you have enough room, you could add this as secondary seating, for guests or play - since you’d definitely want a more comfy and adjustable nursing chair. This look would fit in well into a neutral, modern style design. HOWEVER, while I love this look, I would 100% be sure to source a vegan fabric.

The Pampas Grass is stealing the show here. LOVE.

Did you ever think that opposing stripes could ever look so good?! Sarah Sherman Samuel is giving us the look! And the green upholstered chair is sitting bold and pretty within this neutral color palette. Layering rugs is a great way to add both pattern and texture in a room and it can also break up a busy or more colorful pattern. Leaning ladders to use as a swaddle and blanket display is a look that you need right now!

I hope our first Weekend Inspiration Project post is giving you so many ideas in the neutral nursery department, and inspiring you to get started on your own this weekend!
